Beautiful thinking...

Our reno revealed: the bedroom

New French doors were installed in our bedroom. You can just see them on the right of this shot.

And this is how it looked when we bought it. The windows on the right were replaced with the French doors.

Here are a few more shots. The ceiling to floor wardrobe is in walnut (the same as the kitchen). You can also see our new en suite through one of the open doors.

Our reno revealed: lounge

This is the lounge, looking down towards new French doors. (Please ignore the Xmas tree!)
And this is it pre-reno, looking back towards the kitchen. (You can see the old kitchen through the serving hatch.) Our new dining table it pretty much in the same position...

Our reno revealed

It's been a total labour of love but our house is almost complete. Here are a few before and afters. This is the kitchen.

It used to look like this.

In the pink

This makes me smile every time I see it. To me it looks like the exteriors equivalent of a beautiful ballerina-like gown, or an amazingly feminine floral display. Pink – especially the right shade – is such a happy colour.

Show me the shoe

Ok shoe-lovers. Now that I have your attention. What do you think of this as an idea? Great way to store your shoes? I love it.

Throw me a throw

I'm a little over contrasting throws. But I adore them when their sole purpose is to add texture and warmth, rather than colour. These just make me want to sit and stroke them.

Stitch in time...

This is so cute. Designed by Norwegian artist Siren Elise Wilhelmsen, it's a clock that actually knits as time progresses. After two years of time stitching on, you have a 2m long scarf.
